AEA Europe 2026

Vi do il benvenuto alla conferenza AEA-Europe 2026 nella splendida e storica città di Roma

I welcome you to the AEA-Europe Conference 2026 and to the beautiful, historic city of Rome

On behalf of the AEA-Europe Council and the 2026 Conference Organising Committee, I welcome you to our 27th Annual Conference in Rome. AEA-Europe provides an important international forum for sharing knowledge, research and experience in educational assessment. Our conferences offer valuable opportunities to reflect collectively on our work, to exchange ideas, to learn from field-leading keynote speakers, and to promote quality, fit-for-purpose assessments that serve society.

Delegates in Rome will attend the largest gathering to date of the AEA-Europe community. We have had a record number of submissions and registrations for the conference. I thank you for taking time this November to join us: whether it is to present your research, to join the conversations, or to network with colleagues and forge new friendships.

This year’s conference theme is Assessment Literacy: Building Capacity for Quality Assessment Across Educational Systems and Assessment Providers. The theme reflects the increasing complexity of assessment and the growing need for all those involved to develop the knowledge and skills required to use assessment information effectively and responsibly. Delegates will draw valuable insights for their own work and for their professional development from the conference.

I invite you to engage with the workshops, keynote presentations, papers, symposia, discussion groups and posters. You may also like to attend an information session by SIG representatives during morning coffee break on Friday 27 November. Please join us also for our key social events – the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening and the Conference Dinner on Friday – both of which are already included in your conference fee. These social events, along with informal coffee and lunch breaks throughout the conference, are wonderful opportunities to meet and make friends and continue our debates in an informal atmosphere.
