International Conference on Childhood Studies

Childhood is far more than a stage of life — it is a dynamic social, cultural, historical and political construct that shapes individuals, communities and societies. The experiences, representations and rights of children influence not only personal development but also the future of education, healthcare, policy, culture and social justice. As contemporary societies grapple with rapid technological change, migration, inequality and evolving family structures, the study of childhood has become more relevant than ever.

Over the past decades, Childhood Studies has emerged as a vibrant interdisciplinary field, challenging traditional assumptions about children and recognising them as active social actors with their own voices, agency and rights. Today, researchers and practitioners from across the humanities, social sciences, education, health, law and the arts are exploring childhood from diverse theoretical and methodological perspectives.

This conference provides an international platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, artists and professionals to discuss contemporary debates, emerging challenges and innovative research on children and childhood. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary approaches that bridge disciplines and offer fresh perspectives on children's lives in local and global contexts.
